There is a lot of demand for English-language Bachelor’s degree programmes in health and social services

The first joint application of the spring ended on Wednesday January 17th. The English-language Bachelor's degrees of the Diaconia University of Applied Sciences attracted applicants again well.

A total of 1981 applicants applied for Diak’s English-language Bachelor’s degrees. Most of the applicants were from Finland, Nigeria and Nepal.

Diak offered 80 study places for English-language Bachelor’s degree programmes in social and health care at the Helsinki campus. Studies will begin in the autumn of 2024.

Bachelor’s degree programmes in the joint application were

  • Bachelor of Health Care, Nursing: 996 applicants
  • Bachelor of Social Services: 1057 applicants

Entrance examinations

Diak’s English-language Bachelor of Social Services training uses the International UAS Exam, a joint application test for Universities of Applied Sciences. There is one stage of the entrance examination, and it will take place entirely online in March.

Diak organises its own two-stage entrance examination for English-language nursing education. The first phase will take place at Diak’s Helsinki campus on 15 February 2024 and the second phase will take place online between 4 and 5 March 2024. Applicants to Diak’s English-language nursing education must have at least level B1 knowledge of Finnish.

In addition to the selection tests, Diak does not use other selection methods in English-language programmes.

Admission results

Results for student selections will be published by April 10th 2024. We will inform on our website when the results are published. Names of the selected students are not published online.

Applicants can see their admission results from the Studyinfo website. All the applicants will receive an email on the admission results.

Offered study places must be accepted by July 11th (3 PM).

Second joint application

The second joint application of the spring for higher education in Finland will be held between 13 and 27 March 2024. The joint application includes Diak’s Finnish-language bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the Helsinki, Oulu and Pori campuses, DiakHub Eastern Finland and online.
