In the Hoivan tukipalvelut project, pathways were developed to help people in a weak labour market position transition into support service roles in the care sector through coaching services. The target groups included, in particular, the long-term unemployed, people with partial work ability, and young and adult immigrants. The practical pilots were carried out in residential and home-based services for older people and people with disabilities, where labour shortages are significant. The target groups also included social and healthcare organisations acting as employers, as well as their employees.

The main implementer of the project was Diaconia University of Applied Sciences, and the project was co‑funded by the European Union.

The Hoivan tukipalvelut project supported unemployed jobseekers in accessing coaching services to help them transition into support worker roles in the care sector.
