Fresh results from the national career monitoring survey confirm Diak’s position as one of Finland’s leading universities of applied sciences in terms of labour market relevance. The survey, conducted by the Finnish National Agency for Education and the Ministry of Education and Culture, examined the experiences of graduates from 2020 five years after graduation. The findings for Diak are excellent.
For the third consecutive year, Diak is clearly Finland’s most recommended university of applied sciences, according to the annual career monitoring survey. Graduates rate Diak’s degrees very positively.
In the question measuring employers’ appreciation, Diak ranks among the top institutions, and its social and health care degrees receive the best feedback nationwide.
“We are very pleased with these results. They show that Diak’s programmes are high-quality and meet the needs of working life. Our graduates are skilled professionals in human encounters, and their expertise is widely valued,” says Kati Komulainen, CEO and President of Diak.
Graduates are also exceptionally satisfied with their degree from a career perspective. They feel that their studies have provided strong competencies for working life and supported their career development. These results reflect the quality of education and its significance in building a professional future.
Strong employment and career progression
Nearly 72 percent of Diak graduates have been continuously employed five years after graduation, clearly above the national average. In addition, a large proportion continue to work in roles related to their degree, demonstrating the relevance of the education and the applicability of the skills acquired.
Diak alumni also report that they can make excellent use of the knowledge and skills gained during their studies in their current jobs. This is evident not only in high ratings for skill utilisation but also in the fact that many graduates have advanced to managerial and leadership positions.
Based on these results, Diak’s programmes provide a particularly strong foundation for working life and excellent opportunities for career advancement.
What is the career monitoring survey?
The career monitoring survey provides up-to-date information on employment, career paths and competencies of graduates. The nationwide survey for universities of applied sciences is coordinated by the Finnish National Agency for Education and the Ministry of Education and Culture and implemented in cooperation with CSC – IT Center for Science Ltd.
