Students have access to a free health check during their study. You can make appointments in matters related to health checks, your capacity to study, mental health matters, substance abuse problems, contraception and vaccination.
Emergency appointments, A&E
Evening, night and weekend health care is provided by the regional accident and emergency department at Oulu University Hospital (Kajaanintie 50, entrance A1)
Please call the nurse on +358 (0)8 315 2655 before going in. The nurse will advise you over the phone and assess whether you need to go to A&E.
For non-residents, urgent medical care is provided at the local health centre based on the patient’s current address. In non-urgent matters, non-residents can also contact the student health centre.
Mental well-being
You can contact the student health centre at Kontinkangas in all mental health matters. In crises and acute mental health problems, you can also go to the acute clinic at the health centre without an appointment.
Oral health care
Students’ dental care is provided by the City of Oulu oral health care service.
