International Opportunities at Diak
At Diak, you have numerous opportunities to gain international competence during your studies.
All Diak degree programmes offer the possibility to complete a student exchange and/or work placement abroad.
We also welcome students from our international partner institutions to study in Diak for a long or a shorter period.
An international study or work placement period opens doors to working life, broadens your cultural understanding, and brings new perspectives to your everyday life.
Going on exchange is a unique opportunity for you to learn and challenge yourself!

Studies and work placements abroad
Explore Diak’s exchange destinations and apply for an exchange period by completing the application form well in advance. You may also, at your discretion, search for a placement independently.
Intensive programmes (BIP)
Diak students can gain international experience by participating in international intensive programmes at Diak or in one of our partner institutions.
Internationalisation at home
International tutoring
One of the best ways to get international experience is to become a tutor for incoming exchange students! Each semester students from our partner institutions arrive to Diak. Tutors provide help with practicalities and show the students the best parts of Diak and Finland. If you want to join, contact the student union O’Diako for more information!
Other activities
You can strengthen your international competences by studying foreign languages and completing modules related to multiculturalism. You can also take part in international events and projects organised at Diak. The Student Union (sometimes with the support of Diak’s International Office) organises several activities, such as a language café for international students. You can also participate in the activities of various organisations, such as AIESEC and the Erasmus Student Network.
