Diak has been accepted as a member of the Eurodiaconia network. The membership opens new doors for international cooperation and strengthens Diak’s role as a promoter of social justice, wellbeing and health in Europe.
Eurodiaconia is a European network that brings together organisations, churches and actors providing social services and engaging in social action. The network’s mission is to promote social justice and offer support to people in the most vulnerable situations. It also focuses on advancing holistic wellbeing and health, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to live a good life regardless of their background.
– Becoming a member of Eurodiaconia is a natural step for Diak. It reinforces our connection to the European value base and provides us with even better tools to work for health, wellbeing and justice, says Heidi Zitting, Head of Diak’s Diaconia and Diversity Research and Development Programme.
Joining Eurodiaconia opens up new avenues for collaboration and opportunities for Diak to participate in social and health policy discussions and decision-making in European forums, as well as to build new networks with expert organisations and higher education institutions in the field.
In turn, Diak will be able to share its own expertise in the social and healthcare sector and strengthen its competence, for example through international RDI projects.
