Learning outcomes
Students
• understand the importance of sustainable wellbeing from the perspectives of social justice, economic and ecological sustainability and the promotion of cultural wellbeing
• understand the key concepts of eco-social work
• can identify and assess resources and risk factors related to the health, living conditions and life circumstances of their customers and the community and offer guidance on the use of available services
• can support and promote the health, functional capacity and inclusion of customers/patients in need of special support using different methods
• can evaluate how their own life history and experiences affect their professional development
• can select and apply their communication methods according to customer needs
Teaching methods
he study materials include videos, research articles, and other introductory materials related to the topic. Each student completes an assignment related to each section:


Introduction to Sustainable Wellbeing
Assignment: Define and explain the key concepts.


Global Health Challenges
Assignment: Create a concept map of the main challenges.


Wellbeing of People in Finland
Assignment: Individual reflective assignment.


Networks and Working Methods
Assignment: Preferably as a group, explore a third-sector service provider and create a video presentation for the other groups.


Joint Discussion on Promoting Sustainable Wellbeing
Assignment: A 500‑word reflection on the health and wellbeing of people in Finland, plus two commentary responses (200 words each) on other students’ reflection texts.
