Diak joined the Climate University network in spring 2026. The network offers sustainability and climate-related courses to students at 29 Finnish higher education institutions.
What is Climate University?
Climate University offers courses developed together by Finnish higher education institutions. The courses cover topics such as climate change and adaptation to climate change, planetary health, biodiversity, the circular economy, sustainable consumption, and leading sustainability transitions.
The courses are now available in Peppi under cross-institutional studies, using the name Climate University (Ilmastoyliopisto). Whether you can include a course in your degree depends on the curriculum of your degree programme and your personal study plan (HOPS).
The courses are based on the latest research. They are available in Finnish, English and Swedish. Most courses are delivered online.
Diak has strong expertise in social sustainability and reducing inequality. Ecological sustainability is increasingly connected to this work. Climate and nature crises can make the same problems more serious that are addressed in social and health care and church-related fields, such as differences in health and wellbeing.
Climate University courses offer an opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills in these areas.
How to take part
You can find the Climate University courses in the study guide. In some degree programmes, you can include these courses in your elective studies. In other programmes, you can complete them as studies that are additional to the required degree credits.
