Explore Diak’s international mobility partners and exchange destinations

Ever wonder what destinations are available for international student exchange? Or where Diak’s most long-standing partners are located?

Diak has about 70 mobility partners in over 30 countries around the world. With our partners, we carry out student exchanges, plan projects, and promote cooperation, for example, by organizing joint study modules. For us, it’s important to be involved in international activities and discussions and thereby learn new things and share our own expertise.

Among the exchange destination countries, the absolute favourites at Diak are Tanzania, Kenya, Vietnam, Spain, and Austria. It is also possible to go on an exchange to many other countries, including Canada, Australia or Italy. Here are our top tips:

  • Australia: Finncare, a care organisation located near Brisbane, accepts both social services and nursing students for a 2–3-month practical training period in elderly care. Finnish and English are used as working languages during the placement.
  • Canada: Suomi-Koti in Toronto is a non-profit service centre that provides quality care for elderly people in the Finnish community. Diak students can apply for a 2–3-month placement at Suomi-Koti. This destination accepts social services and nursing students.
  • Italy: Diak’s partner University of Trento offers studies in sociology and social work for international exchange students in the spring and autumn semesters. The language of study is English. The exchange opportunities offered by the university last for the length of the semester (approx. 5 months, 25-30 ECTS).

If you are considering going on exchange, you can explore all destinations in the destination database.

The next exchange application period will be held from January 18 to February 14, 2027. You can find more information in the application instructions.
