Learning outcomes
The students will be able to:
• understand different challenges affecting the everyday life of the adult population in Finland
• apply relevant legislation in the field of adult social work
• understand the services, support and benefits available for service users
• empower service users
• use different participatory, socio-pedagogical, community-based work and narrative methods in adult social work
Teaching methods
Attendance to the orientation, case analysis and workshop are compulsory. Case Analysis and workshop will be completed in small groups

There will be lectures and independent study days to help the students prepare for the individual exam and case analysis.
Learning materials and recommended literature
Required reading materials will be published in Diakle. Students are required to read the materials for the individual exam and case analysis.
Assessment criteria
Students should pass both the individual exam and case analysis. Case Analysis will be done in a small group. The compulsory workshop will be assessed pass / failed. Final grade will be 50% individual exam and 50% case analysis.
