Uncertainty is growing due to economic instability, ecological crises, pandemics, and wars—leading to mental health challenges and societal tensions. The public welfare system struggles to meet these demands, leaving some without support. Values and worldviews are also evolving.
Everyone deserves a good life and human dignity.
Diaconia supports vulnerable individuals and promotes equality, social peace, and environmental wellbeing. It is rooted in dialogue, compassion, and radical love—a courageous commitment to human dignity and wellbeing. At Diak, we work to enhance the substance of diaconal work and support the transformation and outreach of parishes so that no one is left without help.
We engage in multidisciplinary research, development and educational collaboration together with our partners working in the field of diaconal work. Our network includes universities, universities of applied sciences, NGOs and religious communities in Finland and abroad.
