Learning outcomes
Students
• develop their oral language skills in situations related to nursing
• achieve B1.2-level oral proficiency in Finnish, which enables interaction with patients, relatives, colleagues and other healthcare professionals.
• are able to describe, explain and define phenomena in their field using oral language skills
Teaching methods
The course consists of lectures, group discussions, individual learning assignments and an exam at the end of the course (oral exam). The main focus is on nursing interaction and communication skills.
Student workload and time commitment
Lessons: 20 h (contact teaching on Campus)
Oral exam + training for exam: 11 h
Independent work (homework): 25 h
Learning diary 25 h (2 h / week)
