Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Social Services, spring 2027
There are two selection methods: the International University of Applied Sciences (UAS) Exam and entrance examination organised by Diak. Applicants also need to meet the eligibility criteria.
Applicants do not need to choose on the application form which selection method they would like to participate in. Applicants can participate in both the International UAS Exam and Diak’s own entrance examination and be offered admission through any of these selection methods.
Please note that in most cases, applicants’ eligibility to higher education will only be checked after the entrance examination(s). It is possible that the applicant attends the entrance examination(s) but cannot be offered admission because of missing attachments or failure to meet the admissions criteria.
International UAS Exam
20 applicants are offered admission based on the International UAS Exam.
The International UAS Exam is a joint digital entrance exam of the Finnish Universities of Applied Sciences (UAS), used for selecting students to study programmes leading to a bachelor’s degree and conducted in English. The entrance exam is completed on the applicant’s own computer remotely online.

Entrance examination organised by Diak
20 applicants are offered admission based the entrance examination organised by Diak.
The entrance exam is organised on 10 March 2027 at Diak’s Helsinki campus. All applicants will be invited to the entrance examination. You do not need to have an English language proficiency certificate to be invited.
The entrance examination consists of a written English test. The maximum score is 40
points and the lowest accepted score is 20 points. Applicants also need to receive a pass
result in all sections included in the written English test. Receiving a failed result in any
section/criterion results in failure of the entrance exam.
Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Health Care, Nursing, spring 2027
The admission to the Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Health Care, Nursing is based on an entrance examination. Applicants also need to meet the eligibility criteria.
Please note that in most cases, applicants’ eligibility to higher education will only be checked after the entrance examination. It is possible that the applicant attends the entrance examination but cannot be offered admission because of missing attachments or failure to meet the admissions criteria.
Entrance examination organised by Diak
Diak uses a written entrance examination organised by Diak as a selection method for the Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Health Care, Nursing.
The entrance examination is organised on 9 March 2027 at Diak’s Helsinki campus (Kyläsaarenkuja 2, 00580 Helsinki, Finland). It is not possible to participate in this entrance exam online. All applicants will be invited to the entrance exam and the schedule for the day will be included in the invitation.
Bachelor of Health Care, Nursing programme has two selection groups based on the entrance exam. 45 applicants are offered admission based on this entrance exam (35 from selection group 1 and 10 from selection group 2).
The entrance exam consists of three different sections: English language skills, mathematics and Finnish language skills. The sections include written tasks in English and Finnish and a mathematics test. The math tasks will be available both in Finnish and in English.
Applicants are ranked based on the total score of all sections set for the selection group in the entrance examination. Applicants need to pass all exam sections set for the selection group to receive a pass result to be considered for admission.
All applicants must complete the test sections English language skills and mathematics. Applicants who choose not to complete the Finnish language skills test section cannot be offered admission in the selection group 1. If an applicant does not complete the Finnish language skills section or receives fewer than the minimum points in that section, they can still be considered in the selection group 2.
The maximum score for the entrance exam is 50 points for the selection group 1 and 30 points for the selection group 2. Receiving fewer than minimum required points in any section or criterion results in failure of the entrance exam section. If an applicant passes all test sections, they will be considered for both selection groups.
Selection group 1 (admission quota 35)
Admission for the selection group 1 is based on the entrance exam sections English language skills, mathematics and Finnish language skills. Applicants are ranked based on the total score of all sections set for the selection group of the entrance examination. Applicants who receive the highest total score from the English language skills, mathematics and Finnish language skills sections will be offered admission based on the admission quota set.
Applicants to Diak’s nursing programme selection group 1 are required to have skills in Finnish. The minimum requirement is level B1 on the Common European framework for languages. The Finnish skills are assessed in the entrance exam.
Scoring for the entrance exam (selection group 1):
- Mathematics 10p (min 6p)
- English language skills 20p (min 10p)
- Finnish language skills 20p (min 10p)
Selection group 2 (admission quota 10)
Admission for the selection group 2 is based on the entrance exam sections English language skills and mathematics. Applicants are ranked based on the total score of all sections set for the selection group of the entrance examination. Applicants who receive the highest total score from the English language skills and mathematics sections will be offered admission based on the admission quota set.
Scoring for the entrance exam (selection group 2):
- Mathematics 10p (min 6p)
- English language skills 20p (min 10p)
Individual arrangements for entrance examinations
You may submit a separate application to request the right to individual arrangements for taking an entrance examination.
The application should indicate the types of individual arrangements being requested and the grounds for the request. You should enclose copies of the certificates to which you appeal. As a general rule, the statements should be not more than five (5) years old. The application contains more detailed information about the attachments.
Individual arrangements for entrance examinations are specific to each programme choice and valid only on a specific examination date. You will receive a notification (not a decision) about the individual arrangements sufficiently early before the entrance examination.
Any attachments to applications for individual arrangements shall be secret.

International UAS Exam
Requests for individual arrangements in the International UAS Exam must be submitted by 28 January 2027, 3pm Finnish time. Please see the UASinfo.fi website for more detailed information on how to request individual arrangements.
Submit your request, with the necessary attachments, to the Admissions Services of the university of applied sciences using the International UAS Exam that is highest on your application form. Please see the UASinfo.fi website for information on whether the request shall be submitted on paper or in electronic form to the university of applied sciences in question.
If the Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Social Services offered by Diak is the highest study option on your application form that uses the International UAS Exam as selection method, please use this form to request individual arrangements in the entrance examination.
If an issue entitling an applicant to individual arrangements emerges or is identified between the end of the application period and the entrance examination date, the applicant must submit an application for individual arrangements to the admission services of each university of applied sciences arranging the entrance examinations that he or she intends to take without delay.
Diak may deny an applicant the right to individual arrangements if such arrangements are impossible to implement, for example because of schedule-related reasons.
