Quality higher education for the benefit of our students

Diak’s quality work is built on the aim of promoting a socially sustainable world and strengthening community values. For us, quality is part of everyday practice, visible in teaching, research, development and innovation (RDI) activities, societal engagement and impact and continuous learning services.

A quality system designed to drive continuous development and renewal

Diak’s quality system ensures that our operations are high-quality, forward-looking and knowledge-based. Quality management is directly linked to our strategy and risk management, and it enables us continuously to improve our work.

Student-centred approach

We strive for sustainable excellence based on high-quality education, equal learning opportunities, diversity and a thriving community. International students can trust that Diak’s education meets the quality assurance requirements of the European Higher Education Area.

Cooperation and impact

Diak produces RDI expertise to meet the changing needs of working life and society, and promotes global sustainability. We work closely with employers and other partners on the regional, national and international levels. Our way of working is to share successes and good practices within our community and networks.

Quality Policy 

Diak’s quality policy is founded on our mission to promote a socially sustainable world and on the communal values that guide all our activities and form the basis of our quality work. 

Our operations are proactive, sustainable, impactful, of high quality, respectful of diversity and grounded in the promotion of wellbeing. We aim to be a forward-looking, inspiring and creative university of applied sciences that recognises the significance of education, works in a student-centred and participatory manner, and builds an operating culture based on openness. 

In line with our values, we seek to foster knowledge, cultivate a sense of belonging, and uphold democratic values. Our goal is to develop our activities continuously through our quality management system. The information produced by the system, together with practical development measures, supports students, staff, management and external stakeholders. 

Diak aims to generate genuine added value and societal impact, provide high-level expertise to meet the evolving needs of working life and society, and promote global sustainability. We work towards this in close collaboration with working life and other partners, drawing on extensive regional, national and international networks. At the same time, we share successes and best practices within our community through various networks and collaborative forums.

Quality management is directly linked to Diak’s strategy and risk management. Continuous evaluation of operations, anticipation, innovation and a participatory quality culture provide the foundation for our work. 

Quality covers teaching and learning, RDI activities, societal impact, continuous learning and the community services that support our operations. 

We ensure that the university of applied sciences meets the quality assurance requirements of the European Higher Education Area. International students can rely on the quality of our education.

Audited by FINEEC

Our quality system has been audited by the Finnish Education Evaluation Centre (FINEEC). The audit confirms that our quality management meets national criteria and European recommendations.

Our quality label is valid until the end of 2026.

Our quality system follows the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG).
