Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Social Services, spring 2026

There are two selection methods: the International University of Applied Sciences (UAS) Exam and entrance examination organised by Diak. Applicants also need to meet the eligibility criteria.

Applicants do not need to choose on the application form which selection method they would like to participate in. Applicants can participate in both the International UAS Exam and Diak’s own entrance examination and be offered admission through any of these selection methods.

Please note that in most cases, applicants’ eligibility to higher education will only be checked after the entrance examination(s). It is possible that the applicant attends the entrance examination(s) but cannot be offered admission because of missing attachments or failure to meet the admissions criteria.

International UAS Exam

20 applicants are offered admission based on the International UAS Exam.

The International UAS Exam is a joint digital entrance exam of the Finnish Universities of Applied Sciences (UAS), used for selecting students to study programmes leading to a bachelor’s degree and conducted in English. The entrance exam is completed by the applicant’s own computer remotely online.

The International UAS Exam is organised on 24 March 2026. You will find information on the exam sections, scoring and schedule at UASinfo.fi. Please acquaint yourself with the pre-identification instructions, English language requirements and accepted identification documents at UASinfo.fi.

Entrance examination organised by Diak

20 applicants are offered admission based the entrance examination organised by Diak.

The entrance examination organised consists of two phases. Applicants do not need to have an English language proficiency certificate to participate in the entrance examination organised by Diak.

First phase 3 March 2026

The first phase of the entrance examination is organised 3 March 2026 at Diak’s Helsinki campus. It is not possible to participate in the entrance exam online.

The first phase consists of written tasks in English.

Applicants need to pass the first phase to be invited to the second phase.

Second phase 4 March 2026

The second phase of the entrance examination is organised 4 March 2026 at Diak’s Helsinki campus. It is not possible to participate in the entrance exam online.

The second phase consists of a group interview in English.

Applicants must pass all parts of the entrance examination to receive a pass result and to be considered for admission.

Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Health Care, Nursing, spring 2026

The admission to the Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Health Care, Nursing is based on an entrance examination. Applicants also need to meet the eligibility criteria.

Please note that in most cases, applicants’ eligibility to higher education will only be checked after the entrance examination. It is possible that the applicant attends the entrance examination but cannot be offered admission because of missing attachments or failure to meet the admissions criteria.

Finnish language requirement

Applicants are required to have skills in Finnish. The minimum requirement is level B1 on the Common European framework for languages.

Entrance examination organised by Diak

The entrance examination organised by Diak consists of two phases. Applicants do not need to have an English or Finnish language proficiency certificates to participate in the entrance examination organised by Diak.

First phase 3 March 2026

The first phase of the entrance examination is organised on 3 March 2026 at Diak’s Helsinki campus. It is not possible to participate in the entrance exam online.

The first phase consists of written tasks in English and Finnish and a mathematics test. The math tasks will be available both in Finnish and in English.

Applicants need to pass the first phase to be invited to the second phase.

Second phase 5 March 2026

The second phase of the entrance examination is organised 5 March 2026 at Diak’s Helsinki campus. It is not possible to participate in the entrance exam online.

The second phase consists of a group interview in English and a group interview in Finnish.

Applicants must pass all parts of the entrance examination to receive a pass result and to be considered for admission.

Applicant can be exempted from the group interview in Finnish if they can demonstrate their Finnish language skills with one of the following documents:

Civil service language proficiency certificates: Finnish satisfactory, good, or excellent skills.

Primary and lower secondary education certificate: Finnish as a mother tongue or Finnish as a second language

General upper secondary education certificate: Finnish as a mother tongue or Finnish as a second language

Matriculation examination certificate: Finnish as a mother tongue or Finnish as second language

Vocational upper secondary education certificate completed in Finnish

International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma: Finnish: language A or B

European Baccalaureate (EB) diploma: Finnish: L1, L2 or L3

Reifeprüfung (RP) / Deutsche Internationale Abitur (DIA) diploma: Finnish as native language or B1- language

National certificates of language proficiency (YKI): Finnish intermediate or advanced level (speaking and listening comprehension: assessment 3 or 4 at intermediate level; assessment 5 or 6 at advanced level).

Individual arrangements for entrance examinations

You may submit a separate application to request the right to individual arrangements for taking an entrance examination.

The application should indicate the types of individual arrangements being requested and the grounds for the request. You should enclose copies of the certificates to which you make appeal. As a general rule, the statements should be not more than five (5) years old. The application contains more detailed information about the attachments.

Individual arrangements for entrance examinations are specific to each programme choice and valid only on a specific examination date. You will receive a notification (not a decision) about the individual arrangements sufficiently early before the entrance examination.

Any attachments to applications for individual arrangements shall be secret.

Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Social Services

International UAS Exam

Requests for individual arrangements in the International UAS Exam must be submitted by 28 January 2026, 3pm Finnish time. Please see the UASinfo.fi website for more detailed information on how to request individual arrangements.

Submit your request, with the necessary attachments, to the Admissions Services of the university of applied sciences using the International UAS Exam that is highest on your application form. Please see the UASinfo.fi website for information on whether the request shall be submitted on paper or in electronic form to the university of applied sciences in question.

If the Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Social Services offered by Diak is the highest study option on your application form that uses the International UAS Exam as selection method,  please use this form to request individual arrangements in the entrance examination.

If an issue entitling an applicant to individual arrangements emerges or is identified between the end of the application period and the entrance examination date, the applicant must submit an application for individual arrangements to the admission services of each university of applied sciences arranging the entrance examinations that he or she intends to take without delay.

Diak may deny an applicant the right to individual arrangements if such arrangements are impossible to implement, for example because of schedule-related reasons.
