Projects with immigrants and international students

Immigrants and international students form an increasingly significant part of Finnish society and the higher education community. They often face challenges related to language and cultural differences, which may complicate their educational pathways, employment opportunities and social inclusion.

We aim to support smooth integration and equal opportunities.

We promote the wellbeing, inclusion and educational pathways of immigrants and international students. The goal is to strengthen multicultural competence, equality and culturally sensitive encounters. Our activities centre on inclusive collaboration and listening to individuals’ own experiences and needs.

This work is developed in close cooperation with the target groups, educational institutions, organisations, public authorities and working life partners.

Equality benefits the whole of society

Discrimination and racism remain real challenges in the society. Studies show that employment and education opportunities are harder to access for minorities compared to the majority population in Finland. At Diak, we support individuals, professionals, and workplaces in embracing and strengthening diversity.
