Pandemic work and replacements

If students have done pandemic work in their work place, we can accept that either entirely or partially to their placements during the state of emergency. The employer must offer exercises and learning possibilities that are equal to the goals of placements. During the state of emergency it may not be necessary to do a contract of the work. Students must negotiate and evaluate with their guiding teacher via email, if the work is suitable to compensate the placement. If compensating is possible, the teacher will ask the student to make personal goals of the placement based on the placement goals. The teacher will do a guiding discussion or discussions with the student during the employment relationship and an evaluation discussion after the relationship. During the state of emergency we don’t require a named mentor for the student in the work place in the case naming the mentor isn’t possible. If there is no named mentor, the evaluation of the student’s knowledge will be added to the proof of employment. The student will deliver a signed document of their work to Diak. The document contains the information of their shifts during the work.

Crossing the border of Uusimaa for the participation of the placement

If you need to cross the border of Uusimaa during the restriction of the movement: ask a document from your placement employer, which can prove that you are in the placement in particular place. The student status can be shown with your student card.

The employers of the placement outside Uusimaa might cancel the placements in the case the student is living in Uusimaa and had to move between Uusimaa and other Finland during the placement (e.g. TAYS has briefed about this).
