Diak restricts the travelling of students and personnel and public events because of coronavirus epidemic

In Diak there is state of emergency because of coronavirus crisis. All information of the coronavirus situation in Diak will be updated to this page. Last updated 13th March on 11:30.

Diak expands its procedures to prevent the corona epidemic from spreading anymore. The new restrictions consider travelling and public events.

All travelling regarding work or studying is forbidden until 30th April. We don’t take international visitors during this period.

In addition Diak will guide all students and personnel returning from abroad to work remotely for 14 days. This instruction is on until 30th April.

If you have been in epidemic region or returned to Finland from other regions in the last two weeks or think you might have exposed to virus, please make contact to your regional health care.

If you are in the risk group or you have vicinity in the risk group, please obey THL’s instructions and evaluate your own health critically and act in accordance of that.

Public events will be restricted

Diak’s different public and open events will be either cancelled or organized remotely if possible. The organizer of the event is responsible for communication of the event’s changes for the participants.

The situations regarding core work (education, projects, services) will mainly be organized remotely. Situations requiring face-to-face presence (for example simulations) can be held. If you are sick or have cold symptoms, you are not allowed to come to events or to Diak’s campus.

In internal Diak meetings remote meetings are preferred. Meetings face-to-face must be held as few as possible, and you are not allowed to come sick to the meeting.

Organizing education

All the education, that is possible to move, will be changed to remote teaching from 17th March. The lector responsible for the changes will make the changes straight to the timetable. The instructions for the remote or contact teaching will be updated in the near future.

The best way to prevent the infection is to wash your hands

Wash your hands thoroughly with water and soap for 20-30 seconds. In addition or alternatively hands can be disinfected with disinfectant. Rub disinfectant to your hands enough (3-5 millitre) and after that rub hands dry (20-30 seconds).

We will communicate the instructions regarding the coronavirus to students via Tuudo and Moodle. We have contacted the international exchange students via email.

The territorial surveillance authority will make decisions about closing schools and it will be briefed separately.

Regarding the student selections we will obey Arene’s instructions.
